Imagine taking an unloved, clunky financial app and turning it into an intuitive, engaging budgeting tool. That's the challenge I faced as Head of Design at Vest, a promising fintech startup. Their product had the potential to empower users, but its design held it back. It was time for a complete overhaul.
First, I tackled the design team itself. We streamlined our workflows, ensuring everyone had the tools and resources they needed to shine. Then, I turned my attention to the user experience. User testing sessions became my war room, where I gathered intel on pain points and frustrations. Every insight became a stepping stone towards a better product.
But design isn't just about usability, it's about telling a story. I crafted marketing materials that spoke to our target audience, building excitement and trust. I even designed product demos for the CEO and C-suite, ensuring leadership was on board with the vision.
